Oak furniture
Oak furniture is made of one of the most durable and functional woods available. Oak is used to build sturdy pieces with simple lines and stylish finishes. Since oak can range from an almost pure white to a warm honey tone, the wood is rarely painted, but instead finished or lacquered. Oak furniture is known for comfortably classic design elements and a sense of structure and permanence in a home.
Oak is perfectly suited to large furniture pieces such as tables, desks, or beds. The wood doesn’t turn well for items which require intricate details, but greatly appeals to customers with a preference for clean lines and a solid look.
Hardwoods, such as oak, require significantly less maintenance than softwoods, but still should be maintained to ensure the overall shine and appearance of the piece over time. Oak furniture is very susceptible to moisture, extreme temperature and dents or scratches. While furniture made of hardwoods has more resistance than softer furnishing, the importance of maintaining the finish of the products remains critical. Regular polishing and dusting, combined with ensuring correct placement far from heat sources and areas of moisture will keep oak furniture in great condition to last for generations.
